Today we are officially announcing that Hutman Inc. is going to acquire most of Afixia, LLC on May 1st, 2022. Below is an explanation of what is changing and how this may affect you being a customer of Afixia.
Afixia was started back in 2009 and has gone through many changes over the years. It started with Conan Crawford and David Dew as partners and grew from there. After a while we brought on Gary Alton (Senior Developer) and some others. Time has passed, the complexity of developing websites has grown and many of us have started to have families which has slowed our capability to expand and support these ever growing complexities. Couple that with COVID-19 and going out to network and grow a business has never been harder. We knew we needed more staff and experience with the software we have been building over the past 12 years. It seemed clear that we needed to find a partner to merge with to extend our capacity and capabilities. We found that partner: Hutman!
We have been running into Hutman for many years as we develop with the same software and compete for similar projects. We’ve even passed some projects on to them over the years when we have been too busy to take on more. As we started discussions months ago, it became clear that we operate very similarly and this was going to be a good fit for both companies and our clients. We are very excited for this transition and we think all of our customers will appreciate the extended level of service this will bring them.
Having a smooth transition is important to us and we want to make sure our clients will be serviced without a missed step. That said, David Dew will be moving to Hutman as a full time Web Developer. As you are most likely used to working with David, he will still be your main point of contact and will service you just as he did before. You can now contact him by email via [email protected] or by phone at 612-843-1400.
Please continue paying Afixia any invoices that it sends. The company will still be receiving for some months to come.
Past May 1st, 2022 all invoices that would normally come from Afixia will now come from Hutman.
Depending on the status of your project, it may be finished and invoiced by Afixia or if there is much yet to be done, a project will likely be handed off to Hutman for completion / invoicing. David will likely still be doing the work either way.
Please note that there will be an hourly rate change to match Hutman’s $150. This was likely to happen with inflation as it is anyway. We hope this won’t deter you. Afixia and Hutman both invoice in a similar fashion of 15 minute increments.
Web hosting services will remain in place for the time being. We’re committed to ensuring the best uptime and security for all of our sites. Server upgrades and content management system updates are important to maintaining a healthy website and we’ll be checking for any proactive actions that we think are necessary.
Afixia would like to thank all of its clients, partners, and vendors we’ve worked with over the past 12 years. You have made our lives and work amazing and possible! We are very grateful for everything you have brought to us and we look forward to a continuation of our relationships in the future!
You’ll continue to receive the same great service you expect along with expanded capabilities and some fresh new faces.
